2014 Denver Broncos Offseason Moves

What are the Denver Broncos off season’s priorities? The Denver Broncos have a lot of key players who are set to hit free agency on March 11. Every Broncos fan would love to keep everyone on the team but that is not going to happen since some players are going to command a higher salary. The list of players scheduled to hit the open marked include defensive end Shaun Philips and wide receiver Eric Decker. The off-season is going to be busy for the Denver Broncos especially since they made it to the Super Bowl.

Big Decisions

Vice President of Football Operations John Elway knows the team is going to make a lot of tough decisions but those decisions have to be made. They selected Montee Ball in the second round of the NFL draft last year hoping that he could one day be their running back since it is possible they will let Knowshon Moreno walk in free agency. Rashad Jennings is due for a large pay increase next season since he was the starter last season due to Darren McFadden getting injured again. The Broncos could get Jennings from the Raiders but the Raiders have $60 million available in payroll. Elway know he has got good players at that position including CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman.

Eric Decker

The Denver Broncos have a big decision to make regarding Eric Decker since he could get some nice offers from other teams. It is quite possible Decker will leave in free agency and they will have to address the huge hole in the draft as they are looking at some players who will be available. There is a player like Jordan Matthews who can step in and start in case Decker signs with another team. For the tight ends, the Denver Broncos have to decide the fate of two players namely Joel Dreeseen and Jacob Tamme.

Joel Dreeseen

Dreessen is probably not going to come back season since he battled a knee injury last season and even if he was healthy, he did not see much playing time. They are looking to keep Tamme around as a backup though since he has established nice chemistry with star player Peyton Manning. For the offensive line, Zane Beadles hits the open market and there is chance another team would snatch him away from the Denver Broncos. The contracts of the other tackles are pretty much set in stone since they all received new contracts last season so they will return.
