NCAAF Betting: College Football Week 1 Parlay

A new season of college football gets underway this week and I am looking to get a fast start out of the blocks with my Week 1 two-team parlay picks based on betting odds from GT Bets.

NCAAF Betting: College Football Week 1 Parlay Louisville Cardinals vs. Auburn Tigers

Pointspread: Auburn -10.5

Total Line: 58.5

The Louisville Cardinals kick-off their second season in the ACC with a tough road trip to the Georgia Dome to square-off against the SEC’s Auburn Tigers. Louisville is coming off a straight-up record of 9-4 last season while going 7-6 against the spread.

Both quarterback Will Gardner and running back Brandon Redcliff are back on offense and the Cardinals return a number of key players from a defense that was ranked sixth in the nation in yards allowed.

Auburn slipped to 8-4 SU last season while going 4-4 in SEC play. The Tigers failed to cover ATS in their last five games to fall to 4-8 ATS on the year. The departure of both quarterback Nick Marshall and running back Cameron Artis-Payne have left a couple big holes in this offense, but they are pinning their hopes for a run to a conference title on Jeremy Johnson as the new signal caller. I see Auburn getting off on the right foot with the SU win, but I will take the Cardinals plus the 10.5 points when it comes to college football betting on this game.

Arizona State Sun Devils vs. Texas A&M Aggies

Pointspread: Texas A&M -3

Total Line: 66

The Sun Devils went 8-1 SU in their first nine games last season before slipping to 2-2 in their last four. They were 6-7 ATS after failing to cover in four of their final six games. The outlook for 2015 remains positive behind a defense that returns nine starters from a year ago. Mike Bercovici takes over the helm at quarterback after throwing for 1,445 yards and 12 touchdowns in a backup role last season.

Texas A&M won eight games in 2014 following 11 wins in 2012 and nine wins the following season. The Aggies primary strength heading into this season should be its offense with eight starters back from last year’s squad. Kyle Allen takes over as quarterback for the departed Kenny Hill and Tra Carson is back to anchor the running game. There are still some lingering question marks on a defense that was ranked last in the SEC in 2014 in yards allowed. This matchup should test the limits of the total line, but as far as picking a side, I am going with the underdog on the road again with a play on Arizona State to round-out the back-end of this week’s college football parlay.
