NFL Betting at BetAnySports -- How Sloppy Will the Dolphins-Raiders Contest Be?
It is safe to say that the atmosphere around the Miami Dolphins is not exactly a healthy one these days, with horrible play the last couple of weeks, disgruntled players, and coaches committing gaffes. This team is in danger of letting the season get away from it, and there is no question that head coach Joe Philbin is on the hot seat. It is quite possible he is joined there by Dennis Allen, head coach of the Oakland Raiders, who has not impressed a lot of NFL bettors with his decision to use rookie Derek Carr at quarterback instead of veteran Matt Schaub. Both of these teams have to get it going – and soon – or else they’re going to become irrelevant to the playoff race in a hurry. On Sunday afternoon they tangle far away from home – at Wembley Stadium in London, in fact – as football betting action at BetAnySports gets underway at 1 PM ET.

Miami has lost two straight games by 19 points. They went up to Buffalo, and although the defense only gave up one touchdown, they made plenty of mistakes on the special teams, including allowing a 102-yard kickoff return by CJ Spiller. And Ryan Tannehill is still developing, leaving the question as to when people are going to stop having patience with him. Last week’s game against Kansas City was a real debacle, as players openly criticized defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle for his game plan. The Chiefs added insult to injury by running the ball into the end zone when they didn’t have to, making the final margin 34-15.

In the NFL football betting odds that have been established at BetAnySports on this contest, the Dolphins are favored by slightly more than a field-goal:

Miami Dolphins -3.5
Oakland Raiders +3.5

Over 41 Points -110
Under 41 Points -110

We are seeing a lot of teams trying to go to more high-energy, fast-paced offenses, but it would be difficult to imagine these teams getting the ball down the field in a hurry. It is a fact that Tannehill has had only one completion for more than 25 yards, and car has completed only one pass that went for more than 30 yards. Neither of these squads is all that reliable the running game, either. The Dolphins may have more of a shot in that regard, as Lamar Miller top the 100-yard Mark last week in place of the injured Knowshon Moreno.

Philbin had refused to acknowledge that Tannehill would be moving forward as the starting quarterback in press conferences, and that created some controversy that really didn’t need to be there. He later admitted that he had made a mistake. If this team continues to lose, those kinds of mistakes might result in his exit. Unless Tannehill takes the exit first. Remember that the Dolphins have Matt Moore, a veteran who has played admirably for them, in reserve.

BetAnySports patrons would be hard-pressed to find meaningful touchdowns being scored on the part of Oakland. They had one late in the opener to make it a 19-14 final against the Jets, and then only had two TDs in garbage time as they were trounced by Houston at home. Last week they could only manage three field goals, although their defense deserved compliments in limiting New England to 297 total yards. How long will they continue to have patience with the rookie, who may have been inserted as the starter before his time?
