NFL Betting at BetAnySports -- Seahawks Laying Full TD to Bears

The Seattle Seahawks had a very easy time with their last opponent, and on Friday night they will have the advantage of the home crowd once again when they play host to the Chicago Bears in NFL betting action that is slated to get underway at 10 PM ET at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The Bears are a team that would love to be able to improve on last year’s 8-8 record, and they hope that having Jay Cutler healthy all year might afford them some continuity. The Seahawks have gone through a few strange things in camp, including the holdout of Marshawn Lynch, who came back to camp and was subsequently investigated by police on an assault accusation.

Last week, Seattle played at CenturyLink for the first time since the NFC title game, and they ran roughshod over the San Diego Chargers in a 41-14 romp.

In the NFL betting odds that have been established at BetAnySports on this game, the Seahawks are favored by a touchdown:

Seattle Seahawks -7
Chicago Bears +7

Over 45 Points -110
Under 45 Points -110

Seattle served notice that it is perfectly willing to pound opponents into the turf. Against the Chargers they ran for 243 yards and five touchdowns, and guess what – Lynch, the Pro Bowl running back, didn’t even get a carry. The same won’t hold this week, as Lynch is expected to get the start and see some real action. One guy who has looked in mid-season form is Russell Wilson, who completed 11 of 12 passes against the Chargers. BetAnySports customers may recall that it was a stunning effort during the 2012 pre-season that won Wilson the job over Matt Flynn.

The Seahawks will welcome back some of their starters form last year who have not seen any playing time in the pre-season, including safety Kam Chancellor and linebacker Patrick Smith. NFL bettors are very familiar with them as very prominent performers on one of the league’s premier stop units.

The Bears have been looking for some crispness in their offense, and there is every reason to believe coach Marc Trestman is relatively pleased. Not only has Cutler felt good, but there is a spirited battle for the backup QB job between Jordan Palmer, who will come into the game second, and Jimmy Clausen, the former Notre Dame signal-caller. As BetAnySports patrons know, Chicago already has one of the top receiver duos in the NFL in Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, and they have now reached out and signed Santonio Holmes, who won the Super Bowl MVP when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and though hampered by injuries last year with the Jets, he still averaged 19.8 yards a catch, the highest such figure of his career.

One of the things that seems to separate Pete Carroll from most coaches is the fact that he doesn’t necessarily take the foot off the pedal in the pre-season. Although the Seahawks (+575 to win the Super Bowl in the NFL betting odds at BetAnySports) lost their opener to Denver, they have gone 9-1, both straight-up and against the football pointspread, over their last ten pre-season games. And in their last five pre-season efforts at CenturyLink Field, they have outscored their opposition by a whopping 20 points per game.
