NFL Betting at BetAnySports — Seahawks Ready to Get Big Welcome back as They Face Chargers

Seattle Seahawks NFL Betting BetAnySports
The Seattle Seahawks have obviously not been on the field since their resounding Super bowl victory. So NFL bettors at BetAnySports can fully expect a very enthusiastic and vocal crowd when they finally go to work again at CenturyLink Field when they tackle the San Diego Chargers in pre-season action that is slated to get underway at 10 PM ET.

The Seahawks did not get off to a successful start in the pre-season schedule, as they lost 21-16 to the Denver Broncos, who anyone would agree were probably a little more intense than what might normally be expected from a pre-season opener. In that game they were facing the best quarterback in the league from last season (Peyton Manning). On Friday night they will see Philip Rivers, who had a tremendous comeback season as part of the offense installed by head coach Mike McCoy and coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, which is now in the care of Frank Reich after Whisenhunt’s departure to the Tennessee Titans.

The Chargers were almost flawless on offense in their lid-lifter against the Dallas Cowboys, as their three quarterbacks combined to throw only two incomplete passes, and none until the fourth quarter. The challenge is this particular game will probably be a lot stiffer, as they will not only have to deal with Seattle’s fearsome defense, at least in the early going, but also the crowd noise, which has been known to prompt false starts on the part of visitors.

In the NFL betting odds at BetAnySports on this pre-season encounter, the Seahawks are considerable favorites:

The Chargers, as most football bettors are aware, snuck into the playoffs last season, and did so on the strength of a very efficient offense that actually had the best “drive” statistics of anyone. Rivers had 32 touchdown passes and eleven interceptions, and he was sharp as San Diego hosted Dallas. For that matter, so where Kellen Clemens and Brad Sorenson, so from the standpoint of the pre-season, they are not in bad shape at the QB spot.

BetAnySports customers know it was admirable that Rivers was able to do what he did despite the injury loss of receivers like Danario Alexander and Malcom Floyd. A rookie star emerged in Keenan Allen, and Dontrelle Inman, who spent the last couple of seasons in the CFL, caught a 70-yard TD pass last week from Clemens.

San Diego will find it a tough task keeping Seattle’s quarterbacks in the pocket. They are all known for their mobility – not only starter Russell Wilson, but also Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor, who spent last season with the Oakland Raiders. And even if Marshawn Lynch, who was cleared by the police in an assault investigation this week, doesn’t play, the Seahawks have been preparing for a running game without him, since he was a holdout.

NFL betting aficionados will probably be interested in knowing that Seattle, which is the favorite to win the Super Bowl at BetAnySports (+575), has won and covered eight of its last nine pre-season games, and has outscored its last four pre-season opponents at CenturyLink Field by a 110-36 margin.
