NFL Betting – Jaguars Look For First Win in an Unusual Place vs. Niners

The San Francisco 49ers are on a winning streak, and for the most part, they are doing it by sticking with the basics. The Jacksonville Jaguars don’t seem to have much of a grasp of the basics. These teams will meet up on Sunday for NFL betting action that takes place at Wembley Stadium in London, with the game kicking off at 1 PM ET.

The Niners have lost four game sin a row. The Jaguars are in a hot competition with their in-state rivals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to be the worst team in pro football.

In the pro football odds that have been posted for this game at BetAnySports, the Niners are huge favorites:

Perhaps it’s appropriate that this game is at Wembley Stadium in London, because that is where a lot of people, NFL bettors and otherwise, think the Jags may wind up one day. The NFL wants to establish itself there, and does not want to expand to do it. Owner Shad Khan has some ties there, and the Jags suspiciously don’t seem to have an interest in hometown boy Tim Tebow. Draw your own conclusions.

San Francisco’s comeback from what was thought to be a bit of despair has come with some force. They had been beaten badly by Seattle and Indianapolis in consecutive weeks and found themselves with a 1-2 record. Then they decided to do a little “ground and pound” and it has paid off handsomely.

Not only have the Niners won the last four games, they have covered all of them against the NFL odds and scored 132 points to just 51 for the opposition.

For those of you who like to bet the first half line sat BetAnySports, the Niners are favored by ten points in the first 30 minutes of play. They have destroyed foes in the first half lately, outscoring them 74-17 in first halves during this four-game winning streak.

Jacksonville has allowed fifteen touchdown passes. They will, in all likelihood, have some trouble corralling Vernon Davis, who is a downfield threat form the tight end spot. Davis has averaged a shade under 18 yards a catch and has scored six touchdowns, as he makes a B-line to the Pro Bowl. That’s not to say the Jags can’t go down the field, though; if Chad Henne gets enough time, he may be able to connect with Cecil Shorts III (39 catches, 491 yards) or Justin Blackmon (25 receptions, 384 yards after sitting out the first four games on a suspension). They may not have to put a lot of points on the board to cover these NFL betting odds.
