NFL Betting – Niners in a Mood For Payback Against Seahawks

The first time the San Francisco 49ers faced off against the Seattle Seahawks, it became a major embarrassment for them. Now the two teams meet up again, this time at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, beginning at 4:25 PM ET.

Previously, Seattle had put a big hurt on the Niners, with a 29-3 victory at CenturyLink Field. In that game they had 172 rushing yards and held the 49ers to just 207 total yards.

On the season the Seahawks are 11-1 and, of course, they lead al teams in the NFL, with a home field advantage though the playoffs not yet clinched, but likely. They are also 7-4 against the football pointspread. The Niners are 8-4 and in position for the second wild card spot in the NFC, which is no “gimme” since they have teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals on their heels. The Niners are a very solid 8-3-1 against the NFL odds.

In the NFL betting lines that BetAnySports has placed on this game, the Niners are the favorites at home:

Avoiding the season sweep is important for the Niners, not so much because it would give the Seahawks the division title; that ship has more or less sailed already. But there is a wild card race to be waged, and there is pride on the line as well. Football bettors at BetAnySports see that the Niners now face a possibility of missing the post-season after being the NFC’s representative in the Super Bowl last season.

San Francisco can get the job done, but they are going to have to overcome some absences on the offensive line to make that so. Mike Iupati has been listed as doubtful, and maybe that impacts the team’s running game. Of course that’s important, since most pro football bettors are not all that confident of Colin Kaepernick being able to beat Seattle’s secondary with the passing attack.

Can the Niners avoid turning the ball over? They better. Kaepernick doesn’t have to win the game al by himself, but he has to be a lot better than the 13 of 28 and three interceptions that he had in the first meeting. take note that Seattle’s Russell Wilson didn’t do a whole lot better in that previous game, going just eight of 19 for 118 yards. but it was possible for the Seahawks to control the ball, with 47 rushing attempts. San Francisco’s defensive front is now allowing four yards a carry; educated NFL betting fans know that they need to improve on that in this game.
