Atlanta Falcons
Based in Atlanta, Georgia the Atlanta Falcons are a certified American Football team and members of the south division of the NFC. NFC is the abbreviation of National Football Congress and also a division of the National Football League (NFL). The team always hosts their games in downtown Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. However, building is likely to start in 2014 on a new stadium with the play officially commencing in the upcoming 2017 season.
The team’s practice facilities and headquarters are situated in Flowery Branch, Georgia at a 50-acre spot. As an expansion team, the Falcons joined NFL about 48 years ago (in 1965) and have compiled a record of 312-402-6. They have won the division championships severally including in the years 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012 and they have made only one Super Bowl appearance, that was in 1998.

The size of the Atlanta Falcons headquarters and training amenities of the team is approximately 78000 square foot. The facility which was one of the first unique complexes was finished in 1999. It is a two-storey complex composed of meeting rooms, corporate offices, locker rooms and state-of-the-art training facilities and a 140-seater auditorium. The headquarter site has three outdoor NFL natural turf football fields, a complete kitchen and dining hall for the team members meals, and a foot heated indoor practice facility. The chairs in the auditorium are large enough and the first floor ceilings are very high. The staff offices including the Executive, coach and administrators share a view of the practice field and are located in the second floor. Complicated key pad security locks, remote cameras, card readers and motion detectors are installed at strategic locations in the site to facilitate security.
Ownership of the Atlanta Falcons team
The American football team is owned by Arthur Blank who is the largest share holder with about 90% of the shares. The remaining 10% of the shares is held by eight limited partners. The partners are persons who have invested in the team under the ownership of Arthur for the past 10 years. They include; Brian J. Barker, John P. Imlay, Jr., Derek Smith , Douglas Hertz, Williams, Ronald Cankaris, Ed Mendel, and Warrick Dunn. In 2005 the owners under the leadership of Arthur decided to upgrade the facility and the upgrades done included;
a. Facilities building outfitted with a video room having a big screen, spacious leisure areas and pool tables.
b. Addition of more stylish dormitory units for the coaches, administration staff and the players.
c. The dormitories were located beyond the practice fields for easy reach to meeting rooms, offices and locker rooms.
d. All the housing units were made inclusive of a common area, bathrooms, kitchen and individual bedrooms.
