Dallas Cowboys

The game will be the first between the two teams since 2011, a game in which Dallas quarterback Tony Romo threw three interceptions, and had two of them returned for touchdowns, which allowed Detroit to rally from a 24 point second, half deficit. Tony Romo has thrown 15 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions so far this season while Detroit’s Matthew Stafford has thrown 15 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. The Cowboys have won two straight games, and two of their last three while the Lions lost their last game, and two of their last three games.

Both teams have high scoring offenses, Dallas is ranked 3rd in points per game at 28.6, while Detroit is ranked 8th at 26.6. The Cowboys starting running back DeMarco Murray is expected to return to action, after missing the last two games with a knee injury. Wide receiver Miles Austin is questionable because of a hamstring injury and Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Ware is expected to miss his second straight game with a quad injury.

Detroit Lions

The Lions expect starting running back Reggie Bush to play, despite missing practice with an upper leg tweak. The Lions are trying to catch up to the division leading Green Bay Packers, and put some distance between them and the Chicago Bears with a win against the Cowboys before they go into their bye week.

The Cowboys are trying to win three games in a row for the first time this season, and to extend their division lead over the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins. Tony Romo will also be trying to atone for his three-interception game against the Lions in 2011. Both teams are evenly matched on offense and defense, but Dallas might have a tough time getting some pressure on Matthew Stafford without DeMarcus Ware in the lineup. Fans of both teams should be expecting an old fashion shootout between the teams. The team that makes the least mistakes should win this one.
