The Miami Dolphins like to think that they have found a winning formula for themselves, and it really represents a whole different world than where they were at the beginning the season. Needless to say, they hope to carry this into action against the New York Jets in an AFC East game that is scheduled to begin at 1 PM ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. If you are a Pay Per Head Guide and BetAnySports customer, you probably already know that you can enjoy a lot of things, like Asian online casino action and the tremendous racebook, which will come in handy on Breeders’ Cup weekend. The man of the moment right now in Miami is Jay Ajayi, a running back out of Boise State who had never rushed for even 50 yards in a game prior to his back-to-back 200-yard efforts in the last two Dolphins’ contests. The most amazing part of this story is that Ajayi got himself into first-year head coach Adam Gase’s doghouse very early. Gase just did not like Ajayi’s attitude, didn’t think he was putting out enough, and in fact left him off the plane for the trip to Seattle for the opening game against the Seahawks.

Was this intended as a wake-up call or as punishment? Well, probably a little of both, but whatever the new coach his intentions were, they seem to have worked. The Dolphins thought they might be in good shape at running back at the outset, as they had signed Arian Foster to a free-agent contract. But a lot of people doubted that move, because of Foster’s recent bouts with injuries. The same thing happened to him this season, as he missed a lot of time with a groin ailment (he has since retired). The running game suffered as well, but Gase turned to Ajayi in his quest to find somebody – ANYBODY – who could be the go-to ball-carrier. And now Ajayi, who seemed almost out of the picture in the early stages of the campaign, is among the league’s leading rushers, ranks #1 in per-carry average (6.3)and could be ticketed to the Pro Bowl. Go figure.

BetAnySports patrons have also seen some strange things happen with the Jets’ situation, as Ryan Fitzpatrick, who seemed such a hero last year in leading this squad to the brink of a playoff spot, was intercepted 11 times, including an awful six-INT effort against Kansas City. After an embarrassing 28-3 loss to Arizona, Fitzpatrick was benched in favor of Geno Smith. When Smith then proceeded to tear his ACL, Fitzpatrick came in and save the day against the Baltimore Ravens. Afterward he laced into the coaching staff, management and ownership, saying that they had lost their belief in him. We are sure this caused tension, but head coach Todd Bowles really didn’t have a choice but to leave Fitzpatrick in the lineup, and after a very slow first half, he threw for 198 yards in the second half of the come-from-behind victory over Cleveland last Sunday.

So needless to say, both of these teams have kept their playoff hopes alive, although the idea of catching New England for the AFC East title is only a dream at this stage. The Jets’ assignment will be to take this defensive front which they have spent so much money on and slow down the newfound Dolphin ground attack. Can they? And can Fitzpatrick keep the ball out of enemy hands?
