NCAA Football Futures Odds- 2015 National Championship

The start of another season of college football is still more than six weeks away, but the excitement among sports bettors over 5Dimes futures odds to win a national title is running high.

The Ohio State Buckeyes capped-off last season’s run to a national championship with an impressive 42-20 victory against Oregon as six-point underdogs in the first ever College Football Playoffs title game. Following a stunning 35-21 loss to Virginia Tech in Week 2 of the regular season as 10-point home favorites, the Buckeyes reeled-off 13 wins straight-up while going 9-4 against the spread. They have been listed as +355 favorites to win it all again this season.

The second-favorite on 5Dimes futures college football betting odds is the Alabama Crimson Tide at +925. Year-in and year-out under Nick Saban as head coach, the Tide have been perennial favorites to win a national title, but last season’s run came up short in a 42-35 loss to Ohio State as 7.5-point favorites in one of two national semifinal playoff games. Alabama also lost to Ole Miss 23-17 in early October to post a SU 12-2 record last year.

TCU has caught some major attention from the betting public this offseason and on 5Dimes’ current board it is now a +1075 third-favorite to win a national championship this season. The Horned Frogs were tripped-up by Baylor early last season in a wild 61-58 loss as seven-point road underdogs. It was their only SU loss of the year against 12 wins. TCU was also a great team to bet on last year with an 11-2 record ATS.

Coming in fourth on 5Dimes’ NCAAF futures is the Auburn Tigers at +1500. The Tigers came up short against Florida State in the 2013 BCS National Title game and in 2014 early losses to Mississippi State and Texas A&M took them out of the running for the first ever national playoffs. They went on to finish 8-5 overall with a 4-4 record in the SEC. Once again, Auburn’s chances to make it into this year’s four-team playoffs may hinge on a Nov. 28 home game against Alabama.

Rounding-out the Top 5 on 5Dimes’ United States Sportsbooks futures odds is the USC Trojans at +1700. It has been awhile since the Pac-12’s Trojans have been a prominent figure in the national championship race, but expectations are running high heading into 2015. They closed-out last season with a 4-1 SU mark in their last five games that included victories against both Notre Dame and Nebraska. Top
