New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills NFL Preview

This Sunday the Buffalo Bills will play New York Jets on the Ralph Wilson stadium in Orchard Park. The Buffalo Bills have a young team and they haven’t exactly had a brilliant start of the season. Currently they are the 6th worst team in the league with a record of just 3 wins and 7 losses. They will also be looking to snap a 3 game losing streak after losses @New Orleans 35-17, vs. Kansas City 23-10 and @Pittsburgh 23-13. Their last win dates almost a month ago, a road win against the Miami Dolphins 23-21.

The Jets are coming into this game with a solid 5-4 record. The Jets also have a great record against the Buffalo Bills in the past few years, winning eight out ten previous matches. The Bills are averaging 19.9 points in the offense and 332.9 yards per game with a minus one-turnover ratio. Rookie E.J. Manuel will be back at quarterback for the Bills. He has completed 56.6 percent of his passes and also added six touchdowns and four interceptions. The leading Bills receiver Steve Johnson is doubtful for this game, Robert Woods also being questionable. The Buffalo defense is allowing 25.9 points and 355.9 yards per game. Buffalo also has Kiko Alonso, currently at 99 tackles and should be a strong candidate for the rookie of the year award The Bills got two of their three wins so far this season at home.

The New York Jets offense is averaging 18.8 points and 331.2 yards per game, although they have minus 10-turnover ratio. In defense they are allowing 25.7 points and 325.2 yards per game. Geno Smith is completing 58.1 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and 13 interceptions. David Harris got the most tackles, 68. These great performances the Jets are having came as somewhat of a surprise.

There is a man who might be extra motivated on Sunday. It’s David Nelson, a former player of the Buffalo Bills, now playing for the Jets, who will be eager to get some revenge against his former team. Nelson played with the Bills for three seasons reaching numbers of 61 interceptions and five touchdowns in 2011. He then tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in the 2012 opener and was unable to play for the entire season. The Buffalo Bills refused re-sign him in off-season. Nelson left with a bitter taste, as he found out about the decision on Twitter, and said he hasn’t been given any explanation. The Jets continuing their strong start, or the Bills finally kicking off in the right manner, we can’t wait for Sunday.
