NFL Preseason Thursday Betting Matchups & Picks: Aug. 20

The Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins get things started at FedEx Field in a 7:30 p.m. (ET) start. The Redskins have been opened as slight one-point home favorites and the NFL betting odds for the total have been set at 40.

The Redskins also looked solid on the ground with 153 yards rushing.
Detroit is 3-0 both straight-up and against the spread in the last three meetings and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of the last 10 games between these two.
The second game on Thursday night is a nationally broadcast clash on ESPN at 8 p.m. (ET) between the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Browns are favored by three points at home and VietBet has set the total line at 40.

The highlight of Cleveland’s loss to the Redskins last week was backup quarterback Johnny Manziel’s 12-yard scramble for a score. The bad news is that the Browns only managed 125 yards passing and another 45 yards on the ground. Manziel actually led all rushers with 14 yards on two carries.
