CINCINNATI BENGALS vs. DETROIT LIONS October 20 2013
Let’s start off talking about the Bengals. The Bengals are on a hot 4 game win streak and just blew out the Jets 49-9. However, that win was their first big blowout of the year. Just as Miami hasn’t lost a game by more than 13 points, Cincinnati hasn’t won a game by more than 11 points with the exception of last week.

A.J. Green (Bengals receiver) is having another incredible season as expected and is already up to 734 yards after 8 games. They also have Marvin Jones as their other receiver who has played out of his mind the past three weeks. Last week he had 122 yards and 4 touchdowns! Whether or not that continues this week is unknown, but having Marvin Jones in the lineup has really been able to open up the pass game because now the Bengals have two big pass threats.

Right now the biggest problem with the Bengals offense is their run game. They have struggled to get it going all season long and are averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. If they want to be the Superbowl team that everyone though they were they will need to get their run game figured out ASAP. Tonight is the night to do it though as they are facing a Miami defense who does great against the pass but not so great against the run.

Now let’s talk about the Dolphins. Miami started the season hot, but it’s luck has changed as they are now on a 3 game lose streak. It gets even more heartbreaking for the Dolphins when you realize that they’re past three losses have been decided by a total of 15 points! Tannehill (the Dolphins Quarterback) really hasn’t been playing well at all and is only completing 52% of his passes. He is also throwing a lot of interceptions this year and has a 2:1 touchdown to interception ration which really isn’t good at all; you can’t win football games with a lot of turnovers.

If you look at the stats alone, it doesn’t look good for the Dolphins tonight. However, as we all know football games are not decided by stats alone. The Dolphins are going to be coming out with something to prove tonight and we should be in for a great Thursday Night Football game.
