The New York Giants took a while getting used to the West Coast offense, but now they are feeling a lot more comfortable in it. That’s the kind of thing winning can do for you. The Giants have been on a roll, winning their last three games, and that has probably coincided with Eli Manning finally settling in and taking advantage of what has been presented to him in the West Coast offense that was brought to the team by Ben McAdoo, who was hired as coordinator by Tom Coughlin in the off-season. In fact, in the last three games he has thrown just one interception, and that is saying a lot for a guy who tossed 27 pickoffs last year.
Philadelphia, which made the playoffs last season in Chip Kelly’s first year at the helm, have been going through a relatively rough time on offense, even though they are tied for the NFC East lead at 4-1. It’s not that other teams have necessarily caught up with what Kelly does with his up-tempo, no-huddle approach as much as it is an injury-ravaged offensive line that has bothered the Eagles and their rhythm.

A couple of games ago, when they played the San Francisco 49ers and got no points from its offense, the Eagles had only one offensive lineman who was playing in his natural position – that being Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters. But last week they were able to have three guys in place, because Lane Johnson came back from injury. With 145 rushing yards, they made some progress, but LeSean McCoy, who was last year’s NFL rushing champion, has averaged just 2.9 yards a carry.
