Carolina panthers were celebrating their sixth consecutive win while the New England patriots wondered why there was a wiping off, of the penalty that could have saved them. With only 59 seconds to go, Cam Newton threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ted Ginn Jr. However, the flag went up in the end zone leaving Carolina with a 24-20 win.

Newton drove panthers 83 yards on thirteen plays for the go-ahead touchdown. This gave them a chance to make an almost improbable comeback when Bradly moved New England to Carolina 18 with just over three seconds to go. He fired into the end zone as time expired. Robert Lester intercepted this but an official at the end zone threw in the flag. The claim was that there was pass interference from Luke Kuelchy, a linebacker who had both arms wrapped around Rob Gronkowski. The official gathered and waved of the flag since Rob was in no position to catch the ball all the same. No explanation was given since the referee announced that the game to be over.

Pass interference should have put the ball on a 1-yard line giving the patriots another chance at the game. This could have made them win the touch down since there was no time on the clock. On the contrary the game ended in a bizarre fashion. Bradly had complaints at first but wadded them off claiming that they would have had a better play. Indecisive decision were some of the reasons he cited as what cost them the game. Given a reprieve, the panthers 7-3 celebrated.

The coach claimed that they had a good pressure and their safety Lester was in good position. Brady was 29 of 40 for 296 yards and a touchdown. Newton completed 19 of 28 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns. In addition, he ran seven times for 62 yards and registered one of his best games pro .It was a gutsy effort from the players. Although the defensive effort was not among the best ever, the offensive was definitely an improvement. Carolina panthers entered the fourth quarter with a 17-10 lead and were able to maintain their lead to the end.
