Minnesota Vikings At Green Bay Packers NFL Preview – November 24 2013

This year the Minnesota Vikings have not had it easy. With a 2-8 record to speak of and six games remaining on the cards, they will perhaps look forward to redeeming themselves when they travel to play with Green Bay Packers this Sunday. This is a Week 12 rematch on the NFL schedule. The Vikings head into this game having lost to Seattle’s Seahawks.

For a second straight week the Vikings are on the road and this time during the match at Lambeau, they will be hoping to bounce from the Sunday’s loss in Seattle. They have been lacking in consistency winning in Week 10 Match against the Washington Redskins and losing other games. And the current squad cannot be compared to last season’s outfit. It lacks in depth and the quarterback position seems very vulnerable. The team is in a rebuilding mode and it remains to be seen what they will bring to the match come Sunday the 24th November.

Green Bay Packers

Following a 44-31 victory over the Vikings weeks ago, the Packers under Aron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy on the other hand had a great run pushing and eventually beating their cross-river rivals. And they have dominated home matches against Minnesota Vikings. In total they have a 6- 1winning streak and 12-2 against NFC North teams. This is a far comparison to the Viking’s 1-7 losing streak complete with 2-6 overall losing streak in the series. This gives the Packers some ground heading into the Sunday rematch. However, the absence of their key man Aaron Rodgers who fractured his collarbone during the game against Chicago Bears may tilt the favor slightly to the Vikings side.

Going to this match, the Green Bay Packers will be looking for a win especially after going down twice to the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. They have a 5-5 record, have lost three straight games including two at home since losing Rodgers to injury. They have struggled in their offensive play without Rodgers, bringing in Seneca Wallace who was soon injured too. Scott Tolzien took the offensive responsibility and the Green Bay Packers has since gained 790 points in the last two weeks.

The side that wins the tie has a chance to go to the play-offs. The Packers will require Tolzien to be at his best. If the Green Bay Packers put pressure on the Vikings, Christian Ponder is expected to be up to the task as he showed during Vikings game against Seahawks where he completed 9 passes out of the total 13 attempts he made.
