NFL Betting – Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings

Although Adrian Peterson is still racking up hard-fought yards as he did last year, the Vikings still sit at a measly 2-8-1 record and they’re 0-3 in the NFC North. It seems Peterson hasn’t missed a beat since last year; he currently ranks first in the NFL with 10 rushing touchdowns, second in yardage with 997 yards. He’s no stranger to the Bears, as he averaged 120.6 yards in his last three meeting against them. He’s has a 100 yard game on 26 carries on Sept. 15.

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Overview

The Bears are coming in with a decent 6-5 record behind respectable play from backup quarterback Josh McCown. Ever since Jay Cutler suffered a high left ankle sprain in a game versus the Detroit Lions on Nov. 10, which they lost 21-19. Josh McCown will be starting once again this Sunday when they face the Vikings at Mall of America Field in Minneapolis.

This will be the third straight start for the 34-year-old quarterback this Sunday, and he has worked out just great in the five games and three starts that he has under his belt. He’s completed a solid 65.5 percent of his passes for 1,106 yards and seven touchdowns. His only blemish is one interception. He had a 100.8 rating. Will the Vikings be prepared when their getting their first look at McCown this season?

Cutler was a success in their previous matchup; he hit tight end Martellus Bennett for a 16-yard touchdown pass with only 10 seconds remaining in the game. The Bears won that matchup. On the other side of the football, the defense isn’t going as well.

The Bears defense is allowing a league-worst 145.2 yards per game on the ground. And guess who’s coming to town (one of the league’s best rushers in Adrian Peterson). The Bears are known for being solid all through their history, as they have only allowed at least 40 points on three cases for the first time since 1964. The defense was so horrible in their last game; they gave up 258 rushing yards to the Rams in a 42-21 loss.
Christian Ponder hasn’t been doing so badly for the Vikings. He shined in one of his better performances of the season, finishing 21 of 30 for 233 yards and a touchdown in their last game. Coach Frazier says it’s a definite that Ponder, who threw for 227 yards and a TD with an interception in the first meeting with the Bears, will be back taking the snaps this Sunday.
