NFL Preview of the San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

The Pro Football Betting customers at BetAnySports feel that this Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers is shaping up to be a much bigger match-up than anyone thought it might be. At one time it was thought that the Kansas City Chiefs might enter this game on a winning streak, without having lost a game, but that all changed last week.

Kansas City Chiefs First Loss

The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves in a place they have not been all season. They are coming off their first loss. How will they handle that loss and perform this coming week against the San Diego Chargers is the question on every one’s mind. The Chiefs have a league high sack average of over 3 sacks per game, but the last two games they haven’t gotten a sack at all. Is the defensive line maybe slacking a little after all the wins? Maybe this first loss will be good for the Chiefs and focus them back on the football they were playing the first few games of the year.

Last week against the Broncos, running back Jamal Charles, who normally averages over 100 yards per game, was kept to a season low of 72 yards. That will not happen this week. Alex Smith was completing only about half his passes. This is not the Kansas City team that started the season, and it will most likely not be the team we see come onto the field Sunday.

San Diego Chargers need to pull it together

The San Diego Chargers enter this game on a three-game losing streak. Of the record of 4-6, four of those losses have been on the road, so traveling to Kansas City does not bode well for the Chargers. The Chargers are allowing an average of 26 points a game and over 1200 yards in total. Couple that with the fact that Kansas has not allowed a 100 yard rusher at home or even a rushing touchdown at home, and it could make for a long day for the Chargers.

The one bright note for the Chargers is that they avoided a huge injury scare from the Miami game. Wide out Keenan Allen suffered a knee injury in the game and did not finish the game. The injury was looked at by trainers and he has been cleared to play Sunday , November 24th against the Chiefs.

This is a great boast for the Chargers since he has amassed over 580 receiving yards since week 4, and he is only a rookie. Tight end Antonio Gates should also play a heavy role in the game. Over the past few years, his history against the Chiefs has been sparkling, giving him 13 touchdowns, the most against any one opponent.

San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs might have been a sure thing at one time this season, but after the loss last week, and the Chargers history of playing good at Kansas City, this game could end up surprising quite a few people.
