The Steelers have resolved to improve their defensive play lately, which has seen them excel greatly. They have allowed one touchdown in the last two games. Their 4 sacks against the Ravens and the Jets marched the total from the first four. Pittsburgh on the other hand, in each of their last two games, has not allowed more than 83 yards rushing. In September, they yielded an average of 122.8.

The Steelers employed defensive effort last Sunday, their two players played while injured. Woodley played through an injured knee while Lawrence Timmons managed 17 tackles despite sustaining a broken hand. Their coach Mike Tomlin has high hopes that both the players together with the defensive Brett Keisel, who has a suffered rib, will play on Sunday.

Pittsburgh has scored 19 points in 4 of their 6 games, including 2 wins. They are not satisfied with this and hungers for more wins. Oakland has experienced a rough season having lost their last 10 games. They lost 24-7 to Kansas City on Oct. 13. So far it has been outscored 271-139, although it has won 3 of 4 over Pittsburgh, including the last 2 in the Bay Area.

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 384 yards with no interceptions and 4 touchdowns at Oakland last season. With the help of 43-yard field goal from Sebastian Janikowski, The Raiders were able to overcome a ten point 4th-quarter deficit to win 34-31.

Oakland’s coach Dennis Allen is well aware of the challenge to continue holding to a series of success. This is especially difficult to maintain with a number of injured players on their side and considering how the Pittsburgh is currently playing. His biggest worry is injuries sustained by his key players including center Stefan Wisniewski (knee), Andre Gurode (quad) and tackle Tony Pashos. Matt McCants and Lamar Mady have replaced them. Pryor is the team-leading player with 285 rushing yards; his teammate Darren McFadden has 113 yards.

Oakland’s Denarius Moore has managed 20 receptions for 356 yards and 3 touchdowns over the last 4 games. He is however faced by a challenge of being consistently covered by Pittsburgh’s Ike Taylor, who has previously played the big role of holding Brandon Marshall, Torrey Smith and A.J. Green to a combined fourteen catches for 154 yards. We cannot wait for the much anticipated game; Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Oakland Raiders on  October 27th, 2013 at 4:05 ET.
